The nation makes first shipment of products derived from hemp to the United States and Europe

Two Paraguayan companies carried out their first export of derived products or that contain hemp as an ingredient, considered as an achievement, since the destinations are the United States and Europe, a first step with which the production, industrialization and marketing for their distribution are still.

This is what they reported from the Paraguay Industrial Hemp Chamber (CCIP), which on the morning of this Tuesday, January 11, 2022, announced the details of the shipment made by the companies associated with the aforementioned Chamber: Deautsh ImportSRL for their Cannafusion and Maitei Blend brands, and Better Body Hemp SA with their Essential Hemp line.

In this way, products such as cosmetics, tea infusions and butter infusions with hemp aggregate, which can be marketed in large markets such as the American and European;redested to countries such as Spain, Portugal and Estonia.

The president of the CCIP, Marcelo Demp, stressed that there is a lot of expectation in the growth of cannabis products, even more so if they come from peasant and indigenous family agriculture, as is being produced locally.

“Production is based on a project with peasant and indigenous families, which currently reaches 11 departments of the country, and this is highly valued by international markets.It is the first time that a country develops a product with non -psychoactive cannabis with family agriculture and indigenous communities, ”he said in an interview with Paraguay TV.

He also highlighted that Paraguay is the most advanced country in cannabis production in Latin America, in addition to being the third worldwide to enter the Europeindigenous to industrialization.

In that sense, Demp stressed that the European distributor already has a purchase commitment of six containers of these products, which represents an important volume for the production and work of small farmers.

The head of the guild said that recently another test shipment was also completed to Costa Rica for the Central American market as a “white brand”, which means that the products are available to the distributor to place its own brand.

Also, in August of the year 2021 the export of 21 tons of foods and oils derived from industrial hemp through the Healthy Grains SA company, chaired by CAMP.It should be mentioned that the hemp sowing program for industrial purposes began in March 2021 in the framework of a project carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).
