Cruelty free: eight alternative cosmetic brands that do not test on animals Cruelty free: eight alternative cosmetic brands that do not test on animals

The Cruelty Free is a movement that advocates for the rights of animals in order to recognize those brands or companies of products or activities that do not harm animals in any way. Thus, this term is widespread in the world of cosmetics, where more and more brands stop testing their products on animals.

Testing on animals consists of testing products on live animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs and others, to see their reactions to the products. These tests are very harmful and detrimental to the health of animals that, in most cases, end up being slaughtered.

Cruelty Free cosmetic brands

Luckily, more and more cosmetic brands are joining the Cruelty Free movement. This is the case of La Fresca Cosmética, a brand of organic, vegan and natural cosmetics for hair and skin, which is against testing on animals.

Another example is Salad Code, a company that produces body, facial and hair care products that is ecological, natural and vegan, in addition to not testing its products on animals. Thus, they are toxic free, their products come in recyclable packaging and do not contain ingredients of animal origin.

For its part, Freshly Cosmetics also advocates natural cosmetics, formulated with healthy ingredients and produced in an ecological way. The brand: "Our laboratory is made up of happy biochemists, biotechnologists and chemical engineers who investigate to create +99% natural products," they explain. In addition, they make vegan products, without any ingredients of animal origin and, of course, they do not test on animals either.

"We follow a philosophy completely against animal cruelty, which is why we would never work with raw materials that were tested on them," they explain on the Cocunat website, another of the cruelty-free brands of natural cosmetics, free of toxins and committed to the environment.

3INA is a cosmetic products company, most of them vegan, that are not tested on animals. In addition, it advocates diversity and real beauty, as well as good value for money, with products made in Europe, with high pigmentation and long duration.

Urban Decay is a vegan makeup brand committed to respecting animals: "With this special range of products we guarantee that you buy respectful makeup," they indicate on their website. In addition, they require their suppliers "to certify that the raw materials do not include ingredients derived from animals."

"We are Cruelty Free, and always have been!" They indicate on the Wet n wild website. In addition, the brand works with external suppliers who are also committed to respecting animals.

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics is a brand of bath and shower products, as well as perfumes and body, face and hair care that does not use animals to test its products: "For the preparation of our fresh handmade products we only buy raw materials premiums to companies that do not experiment on animals or intend to do so in the future", they explain.
