Vaccination against covid begins at the Alcalá Hospital for 5-year-old children

Public Health opens the self-appointment to vaccinate against covid from Thursday, December 30, to adults aged 45 and over (third booster dose) and to all children from 5 years old.

Similarly, the Ministry of Health recalls that adults who have the complete regimen with two doses of AstraZeneca and with a heterologous regimen (Astrazeneca-Pfizer) such as teachers, the Security Forces and Corps, firefighters and members of Civil Protection, they can also receive the third booster dose.

The target population – over 12 years of age – who have the full course of the covid vaccine is 91.5% and Madrid residents who have received at least one dose reach 93.3%. The Community of Madrid has administered a total of 11,764,579 doses since vaccination began.

The Prince of Asturias also vaccinates children

Children over the age of 5, as has been the case since December 15, will receive two doses of Pfizer, with an interval of eight weeks, and will be able to choose from a total of 24 public hospitals in the region, among which is the Prince of Asturias of Alcalá de Henares.

In public centers almost 97,000 vaccines have already been administered to minors (they are counting the Hospital Enfermera Isabel Zendal and the WiZink Center where they do not administer childhood vaccines).

Empieza la vacunación contra el covid en el Hospital de Alcalá para niños de 5 años

The public hospitals in which both children over 5 years of age and adults over 45 are inoculated, in addition to the Príncipe de Asturias are: Clínico San Carlos, 12 de Octubre, El Escorial, Fuenlabrada, Fundación Alcorcón, Fundación Jiménez Díaz , Getafe, Gregorio Marañón, Henares (Coslada), Infanta Cristina (Parla), Infanta Elena (Valdemoro), Infanta Leonor (Vallecas), Infanta Sofía (San Sebastián de los Reyes), Móstoles, La Paz, Puerta Hierro (Majadahonda), King Juan Carlos (Móstoles), Severo Ochoa (Leganés), Southeast (Arganda), Tajo (Aranjuez), Torrejón and Villalba.

In the Santa Cristina, Red Cross and Guadarrama hospitals, without a pediatric unit, only those over 45 years of age and over are vaccinated, and in the Niño Jesús University Hospital, the vaccine is only administered to children.

Where to request the self-citation

Families must request an appointment in advance through the website https://autocitavacuna.sanidadmadrid.org/ohcitacovid/#/ enabled by the Ministry of Health. It will only be necessary to enter the CIPA (Autonomous Personal Identification Code) that appears on the public Health Card of the Community of Madrid, the first surname and the date of birth.

In the event that the minor does not have a public Health Card (for being a mutualist, for example) or if the user encounters problems accessing the self-appointment system, they can call the free telephone number 900 102 112.

If the adult accompanying the minor to the vaccination point is not the legal guardian/guardian, an authorization signed by the father/mother/guardian will be required, which is available at the following link: https://www.comunidad .madrid/sites/default/files/doc/sanidad/autorizacion_para_la_vacunacion_menores.pdf

Since children in these age groups do not have a Virtual Health Card (this is only available for people over 16 years of age), the hospitals in which they are inoculated will issue COVID-19 vaccination certificates from the European Union. They are also issued at Citizen Service points, by appointment.

Booster for vaccinated with Astrazeneca

On the other hand, those adults who have received both of the AstraZeneca vaccine, as long as three months have passed since the full schedule was administered, and those vaccinated with a heterologous schedule, may continue to receive the booster dose –Pfizer or Moderna–. (AstraZeneca-Pfizer), when six months have passed since the second dose.

They will be able to do it in all the public hospitals of the Community of Madrid already mentioned, in addition to Ramón y Cajal, Enfermera Isabel Zendal and in the WiZink Center
