Spring is the season par excellence for weddings, baptisms and communions. The great dresses, accessories and headdresses occur event after event. Beautiful and divine, that always. But what about our feet? How do our poor little feet end up after one of these events? Rotitos, like ourselves!

One solution, the most common for all, is to change our shoes. Go from heels to ballet flats or espadrilles and dance! But of course, what about glamour? We lose it completely.

Pedro's shoe repair shop is located in the Reyes Católicos area of ​​Alcalá de Henares, specifically on calle Santa Fe number 2, and the solution to our problem is called “metatarsal bars”.

It is a Spanish invention and it is a half sole of all life, one of those that shoemakers usually put in men's footwear so that it does not slip, and it is placed on the underside of our shoe sole.

They are made of a flexible material and range in thickness from half a centimeter or perhaps less, and the pair cost about 10 euros.

The area of ​​the sole that touches the ground is slightly grooved, which improves grip and therefore our stability when walking, and the secret to avoiding pain is in the marked longitudinal groove that runs from the tip of the foot to the middle. of the sole, and that leaves the middle metatarsal bones (the tarsus and the metatarsus) isolated from the ground.
